Construction Administrator / Accounts Assistant

About the Role:
Quilter Construction is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Administrator / Accounts Assistant to join our team in Listowel. This is a part-time position (25-30 hours per week) supporting both office and site operations with administration, accounts, and project coordination duties. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the construction industry along with experience in office administration and accounting - particularly RCT and VAT in the Irish construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Administration & Project Coordination
- Provide administrative support to management, project, and site teams
- Manage project documentation, delivery dockets, timesheets, and purchase orders
- Assist with scheduling and communication between office, site crews, and suppliers
- Maintain health & safety and compliance documentation
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors regarding paperwork and payments
- Accounts & Finance Duties
- Manage and process RCT (Relevant Contracts Tax) via ROS
- Process purchase invoices, match with delivery dockets, and prepare payment runs
- Assist with payroll data entry and reconciliations
- Support VAT and tax return preparation
- Maintain accurate accounting and project records
- Liaise with management and the company accountant as required
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction admin or accounts (essential)
- Good knowledge of the construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of RCT, VAT, and bookkeeping
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
