- Reporting to manager or designated person

Principal duties:
- Assisting the client with personal care if required (toileting, showering, feeding etc)
- Assisting with practical duties in the home within the agreed limits as set down by the management
- Developing a relationship with the client so as to optimise the independence and confidence of the client in their own home and environment
- Assisting with the work of others involved in caring i.e. his or her carer, home-help etc
- Provide a service to the family carer so that the family carer can get a break from their caring duties
- Care workers are non medical, no administration of medicine, but you can remind a client of when to take their medication
- Provide cover for staff on annual leave (holidays)
- Confidentiality to be maintained in the working environment and outside
- Care workers will occasionally be asked to participate in promotional and fundraising events
- The care worker will have to have a flexible approach to their work and be available to accommodate the clients and maintain a high standard of procedure at all times
- To provide a weekly timesheet in an accurate and presentable manner
- Participating in training and other development as agreed by the management
- Be totally familiar with the contract of employment and terms and conditions of employment
- Any other duties as designated by the manager from time to time
